The cost of the Epson SX405 ink cartridges is not quiet so economical at over £30 for a complete set, but compared to it competitors the SX405 is reasonable in terms of its Epson inks. If this seems too expensive there are cheaper alternatives available for the SX405 in the form of compatible printer ink cartridges which cost half the price of the genuine OEM inks. The SX405 offers more than just print though it also has an A4 flat bed scanner which it also makes use a photocopier as well as a scanner. The scanner comes with software for photo editing and OCR text recognition for coverts print text documents into computer files that can be edited in programs such as word. The photo copier works without the need for a PC and produced great quality copies at an adequate speed. The memory card slot of LCD screen enables another PC-free function which is direct photo printing from a memory card or digital camera via the PictBridge connection.
